Sponsorship and Form 177
Companies that pay Romanian corporate income tax and have not reached their sponsorship ceiling can direct the difference to an NGO, directly through ANAF.
- Ceiling: the lower of 0.75% of turnover and 20% of the corporate income tax owed.
- Procedure: a sponsorship contract with the association, then Form 177 filed with ANAF; the Treasury transfers the money to the association's account.
- Deadline: the same as the annual corporate income tax return (Form 101).
Frequently asked questions
Does redirecting 3.5% cost me anything?
No. The amount is part of the income tax you owe the state anyway; you simply choose where it goes.
How will I know what the money is used for?
We plan to publish reports on this website about our projects and how the funds are used.
Can I donate goods or time instead of money?
Yes. Write to us at stefan.popa@laizvoare.com and we will work out together how you can help best.
I run a company. How do I start a sponsorship?
Contact us, we sign a sponsorship contract and then, if applicable, you file Form 177. For tax questions, please consult an accountant.
